FAQs

Interested in joining us for a class? Here is everything you need to know:

Stroller-based programs

Can I try a class before I join?

Your first class is always free! Request one HERE.

Do I need to pre-register or can I just show up?

While you can absolutely just show up, we would prefer you book into your classes ahead of time. By doing so, you ensure you get details about where to meet us and what to bring and we'll always reach out if there are any changes due to weather on the day of class.

What do I need to bring to class?

For you: water bottle, yoga mat or towel, a resistance band (all classes except Strides 360) and dress to exercise, including sneakers

For your little(s): snacks, toys, diaper bag essentials, and any type of stroller that can safely contain your workout buddy (baby-wearing is also an option for stroller classes)

I just had a baby, when can I join stroller classes?

You can begin attending class with your OB/Midwife's clearance to resume exercising, typically after your six week postpartum appointment.

Can I attend classes if I am pregnant?

Absolutely! We encourage expectant moms to continue to exercise throughout their pregnancies unless told not to by their OB/Midwife. Instructors can modify any exercise that poses a challenge to your changing body as you progress through your pregnancy.

FIT4MOM® recommends you obtain your OB/Midwife’s approval prior to beginning any exercise program.

How will I know if the class details have changed due to weather?

Book into your classes and you'll be emailed/notified with any last minute weather location changes or cancellations at least one hour before the start time of class. You can also check the schedule on our website or text the office at 919-438-0472.

We will cancel classes for severe inclement weather but a little drizzle or chill in the air will not keep us from our workouts!

Do I need to be a runner to attend these classes?

Absolutely not! FIT4MOM is for moms of all fitness levels. We meet for a warm up, then power walk or jog to each exercise station. You exercise at the pace you feel most comfortable and we promise that no mom is every left behind!

At what age can my baby be in a jogger?

As a general guideline, when your baby can hold his/her head up, he/she can ride in a jogger. We suggest that you follow your own stroller manufacturer’s guidelines or consult with your pediatrician if you are unsure.

Do I need a jogging stroller for the workout?

Jogging strollers are not required. As long as the stroller is sturdy, not prone to tipping and all children can be safely strapped into their seats for the duration of class, it will work just fine!

What if my baby doesn't like being in the stroller, gets fussy or needs to feed?

Our classes are designed to keep the kids moving and engaged by incorporating songs and various props to keep them engaged. With that said, if you need to change, feed or console your baby or switch to baby-wearing, please do so - remember, you are in good company!

Can my older children walk along or ride their bike during class?

Safety is our first priority, so we do not allow kids to participate in class outside of their stroller, regardless of age. However, we do know that sometimes you may have a big kid out of school who needs to come along. In that case, please email missycurrin@fit4mom.com for age-specific guidelines if you plan to bring a big kid who does not have a seat in your stroller.
