We're so excited to have a crop of fabulous new Instructors! This new Instructor is so dedicated to fitness, she brings her husband to Stroller Strides for Saturday class too! Welcome Ohio native and pregnant mama, Brooke Olexa to the FIT4MOM Midtown Raleigh Instructor Team! Here's more about Brooke:

Age- 29

Family- Brooke has been married to her husband Mark for almost four years. He's a Regional Manager for an orthodontics sales company, They have their daughter Meredith, age 1. A second daughter is due June 8. She has the same due date as Meredith!

Hometown- Dayton, Ohio

Education- "For undergrad I went to Ohio University and was a Business Major; I got my Masters in Education from The University of Southern California."

Career- "I use to teach 8th grade Social Studies, but then switched to home schooling for a family (twin boys) and have been doing that part time for the past 3 years. I also tutor all levels in reading and math."

What brought you to FIT4MOM?- "I found FIT4MOM after becoming super antsy during the 6 week postpartum wait to work out again. Around 4 weeks, I did some searching on the internet and found Stroller Strides. The day after my 6 week appointment, I went to my first class at North Hills!"

What are your FIT4MOM goals?- " I haven’t done Body Back yet but am really excited to try it after Baby 2 is here! I did Running Club when Meredith was about 3 months old and then ran my first half marathon before Meredith was 5 months old!"

What led you to become an Instructor?- "I had a conversation with Missy after class one day about the expansion up near Wake Forest and the idea came up! I had thought about it before, but didn’t know if it was possible with my homeschooling schedule. I decided to scale back on homeschooling for next year. I am super passionate about prenatal and postnatal fitness, especially after being told by SO many people that I wouldn’t be able to work out while pregnant or wouldn’t have the time as a new mom. FIT4MOM was really the only way I could work out, other than running. Meredith HATED the gym nursery. It was really so much more. I needed a circle of mom’s to laugh and cry with. It provided that for me, and I wanted to be a part of that for other new mamas and mamas-to-be!"

What would you say to a mom thinking of joining FIT4MOM?- "I would say to a new mom that although the workout is great, and it is SO important for our physical and emotional well being, that Stroller Strides can be so much more than a workout. It’s a way to connect with other mom’s while allowing your little one to socialize. It provided support for me when I needed it the most, and I hope that it will become so much more than your go-to workout, but also your community, your support system, and a place to find YOU again."

Describe our Instructor Team.- "The Instructor Team has been so supportive and welcoming. Everyone seems genuinely excited to have us newbies on board and are willing to help in every way. The team seems so passionate about motherhood as a whole and supporting moms in whatever way they can! It is really inspirational and I feel so lucky to be a part of it!"

How did you meet your husband?- "We met in college. He was the “house boy” in my sorority house… basically did our dishes in exchange for free food. We have been together since then!"

Ha! A house boy turned husband. That sounds like the kind of guy who makes a great Stroller Strides Dad! Welcome aboard, Brooke! We're so glad to have you and your family.
